Jazz Things Up This Holiday Season In Goa

15th Dec, 2017

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Everywhere you go,
Take a look in the five-and-ten, it’s glistening once again,
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

Christmas is one of those holidays filled with cheer and wonder. There are so many great things about celebrating the holiday season in Goa. It’s like a mystery waiting to unravel. Whether it’s the gifts or parties or food, it’s all so exciting. And if you’re celebrating it in Goa, you’ve certainly picked a great destination.

The Christmas Feast

Apart from presents everybody eagerly awaits the festive delicacies. Go all out this holiday season in Goa! Nothing can beat a Christmas menu filled with yummy Goan delicacies. A succulent roast turkey, pork sorpotel, sannas and assorted grilled seafood are a quintessential part of the festivities. You can also treat yourself to a fancy buffet at a ravishing shack or restaurant.

Gaining a few pounds after relishing those decadent Christmas desserts is often inevitable. But you know what, it’s okay! Christmas comes once in a year, so it’s justified to enjoy the holiday meals.

1) After the midnight mass service, hot coffee and the famous Christmas plum cake is served. Most churches hold a crib and star-making competition.

2) At the stroke of midnight, watch the sky ignite in a flurry of colour and sparkle with Christmas fireworks.

3) The celebrations begin on Christmas Day with people exchanging gifts, lavish buffets and Christmas dances in the evening.

Wedding season and several parties

December is generally known as the month of weddings in Goa. There are also several parties in Goa which are not just Christmas related. Yes, I’m talking about the EDM festivals. This time, keep a watch for TimeOut 72 which will feature Jason Derulo, Martin Garrix & Wiz Khalifa. It’s 3-day multi-genre music festival capturing hand-picked talent from across the globe. The festival will take place in Vagator from December 27th to 29th 2017.
